During class, you will work as a group to explore your data to figure out what you expect (always subject to change, of course) the core messages to be that you communicate to the community partner.
You have each already identified a dependent variable (or more than one) that you "own." You will describe, predict, and explain this variable using one or more multivariate models. What have you found? What useful information do you have to deliver?
This assignment is a TEAM assignment, and therefore should take the form of an outline of sorts. But rather than just providing an outline of questions (which should be in one of the three model formats), you should also provide an outline of *answers* even though these may change or be adjusted as you move forward.
Building a story like this takes time and generally requires some degree of exploration. That is your task for class today. By the end of class, you should have some idea of what you hope to present to your community partner, and in what order.
You might want to take a look at the template and start adjusting it according to your "story." Putting your initial findings in a template format will be the task for next Wednesday.
REMINDER:
The model types are these:
1. Does x cause (correlate with) y, controlling for z? [interpret slope of x]
2. Which of several x variables has the biggest impact on (correlation with) y, controlling for z? [compare slopes of x variables, look at R^2 values in bivariate models]
3. What variables, in combination, do the best job of predicting y? [look at R^2 value]
