Exam: Midterm 1 (Data concepts)

The exam will be open until Midnight (11:59 pm) on Friday, October 27, 2017. The exam is open note, open book, open internet, but closed to any assistance from live people (texting, Skyping, instant messaging, Google hangout-ing, talking, nudging, winking, etc...). DO NOT discuss the exam once you have opened it. If you have any problems or questions, e-mail me and I'll do my best to respond quickly. Please note that if you are caught cheating (ANY communication with other live people about the exam materials or contents), I will not hesitate to recommend dismissal from the MPA program (no matter how much I like you).

Take the actual online exam in a safe, quiet place with no distractions and a good internet connection. There is no time limit for the exam, but you should plan enough time that you can take the exam in one sitting (this may require several hours at a stretch).

For your convenience, I have also created a printable version of the exam. You will still need a computer handy to answer many of the questions. Note that opening this file or any of the other files below is the same as opening the exam; once you do so, you should NOT COMMUNICATE WITH OTHER PEOPLE about any of these materials.Here is the Word document version of the test and one in pdf format:
