Where: Meeting locations will be announced.
Why: This is your opportunity to display the skills you have learned in the course to address the needs of all students in your classes.
Tasks
- You may need to schedule a meeting with your PLC group before your meeting with the professor to prepare. The outline of what should occur in the meeting is listed below. This meeting will count as your final for this course, so be diligent in your preparation.
- Schedule a time for your PLC meeting with the professor.
- Report on your unit of study and your Learning Goals. In your final meeting, you should report to the professor about your unit of study and your leaning goals. Decide as a PLC what you will share and determine who will report on the unit of study and the learning goals during the meeting.
- Report on your assessments. In your final meeting, you should share the assessments you planned for your unit. Discuss how the assessments were used, the performance criteria, and the accommodations. Decide as a PLC what you will share and determine who will report on the assessments in the meeting.
- Report on your management plan. In your final meeting, you should discuss your management plan. Decide as a PLC what you will share and determine who will report on the management plan in the meeting.
- Report on the performance of your case study students on your UDL lessons. In your final meeting, you should discuss how you feel your case study students would have performed on your individual lessons. Discuss the supports and accommodations you provided. Decide as a PLC what you will share and determine who will report on each case study student in the meeting.
- Report on your tier two and three supports. In your final meeting, you should talk about the plans you have made to support students at the tier two and tier three levels. Decide as a PLC what you will share and determine who will report on these in the meeting.
- Report on your goals. In your final meeting, you should discuss plans for the future and when you (would hypothetically) plan to meet again to report on your goals. Decide as a PLC what you will share and determine who will report on the goals in the meeting.
- Be prepared to address specific questions from your professor about any of the above areas or anything related to your case study students. This meeting is an opportunity for the professor to ask questions that will allow you to demonstrate your learning about the case study students and the PLC process. Be prepared to speak knowledgeably about these areas when asked questions by the professor.
- Run an effective meeting and stay within your allotted time. Each PLC group has 20 minutes. This is not a presentation to the instructor. You should be modeling how a PLC works and applying your understanding of the PLC components as you discuss your goals. Give each PLC member equal responsibilities for the meeting. You can use notes in the meeting, but be prepared to speak knowledgeably and comfortably.
