Change Canvas Grading Scheme
When grades are auto-filled from Canvas into AIM, they are displayed as letter grades, rather than percentages or GPA values. These letter grades are, by default, assigned according to the BYU A - E grading scheme (grade scale). However, for specific classes, it may make more sense to use the P-E grading scheme (pass/fail), or to create a custom one. This guide explains how to change the grading scheme in your Canvas course.
1. Course Settings
Open Settings.
Scroll down until you locate the Grading Scheme heading and click set grading scheme.
2. View/Edit Grading Scheme
To select a BYU grading scheme or to use an already created grading scheme, click Select Another Scheme [1]. (You can also create your own grading scheme by selecting manage grading schemes [2].)
Select the grading scheme you wish to use [1]. Then click Use This Grading Standard [2].
3. Save Settings
Click Done. Then, in the main settings page, click Update Course Details [2].
