There is a Kennedy Center event tomorrow titled "Jewish Life and Anti-Semitism in the Soviet Gulag" - which will focus on the experiences of Jews living in the Soviet Union in the 1930s to the 1950s (and its relation to the Zionist movement). It will be at 12pm in 238 HRCB on Feb 14. More information at this link:

For events like this, I give students two extra credit points for attending (based on an honor system) and providing a paragraph-length writeup of what they learned from the event.
