Online Learning Theories

The majority of online learning theories point to interaction as the key to success in your online classroom. Choose one of three of the most influential online learning theories to learn more about and apply.

Instructions

Choose one of the following online learning theories/frameworks and learn about them. You do not have to read the entire source we provide. You can skim the linked documents and/or research one of these on your own.
1. Educational Interactions Framework
2. Community of Inquiry Framework (must be logged in to BYU Library to access this)
3. Academic Communities of Engagement (developed by former BYU graduate students and current BYU professors)
Choose at least one strategy from the article you chose and start implementing it into your class discussion boards for at least 2 weeks.
Complete the discussion board and reflection assignment.
1. If this is the first activity you are completing, submit the Activity #1 Discussion AND the Activity #1 Reflection
2. If this is the second activity you are completing, submit the Activity #2 Discussion AND the Activity #2 Reflection
