	Update Your Profile Information/Video Be sure the Instructor and TA information page is update in the course. Help your students feel connected to you by recording an introductory video. Tell them about yourself and what they can expect in your course. Your TA should include a picture of themselves, contact information and a short written bio. 	Post a Welcome Email with a Navigation Video To reduce confusion and simplify course navigation a welcome announcement including a video showing students how to succeed in your class should be posted as the course is Published. For helps with your Navigation video see How Students View Canvas and Navigation Video.
	Textbook Ordered BYU Online courses are created using a text chosen by the course author. It is important you use the book the course was written around. Be sure to check your syllabus before listing a book at the bookstore. Note: If your book is built into the class, Inclusive Access, BYU Online will take care of the book listing.
	TAs Enrolled Have TAs been added to your course? Check your People tab in Canvas to see if they are listed. Be sure you have submitted your TA information via the TA Hiring Survey . If they are not showing 2 weeks before semester start contact: Erin.measom@byu.edu . Meet with your TA to establish expectations, divide the responsibilities, and get their input on the course.
	Review Instructor Checklist Each Course should have an instructor checklist (some are still being built). One thing that is of particular import is to set up groups as directed in the course notes. The Setting-up Groups tutorial can help you set them up once you know what groups you need.
	Set Up a time to meet with Your TA TA's are a great resource and can help with tasks like updating due dates, setting up groups, and getting to know the Canvas and your course. Be sure to set up a time before the semester starts to meet with your TA.
	Check Due Dates In Course The due dates for your course need to be reviewed and set according to the pattern set in the course. Such as Wednesday and Saturday due dates. You can easily Change all Course Due Dates in One Place.
	Welcome Email Sent and Copied to Announcements A week before the semester begins, send a welcome email to your students. There are example emails attached to this course. Welcome emails alert students to any beginning of the semester expectations and introduces them to their new online professor, TA, and course. See Weekly Email or Announcement for tips.
	Course Published Once your course is published students will be able to access content. Click on the "Publish Course" button in the upper right of the Home page to make your course accessible to enrolled students. All enrolled students will appear in your Canvas course site.
	Canvas Link put in Learning Suite Attach your Canvas course link to your Learning Suite course page so when students look for their class they know where to find it. See more information on linking to a Canvas course from Learning Suite.
